Competition proposal for a new school campus in Bottanuco  (BG)

The proposed concept design enhances the vision of a school open to the territory, with collective endowments, a point of reference and aggregation for the entire community, through a careful distributional configuration of the intense functional program required. An inclusive and transparent school structure, as a permanent laboratory of research, experimentation and didactic innovation, participation and education to active citizenship that opens to the city by proposing a “porous” ground floor, with multiple accesses that can be activated at different times of the day, in which around two large green rooms, all those activities that can also have a use by the community of Bottanuco are organized: the auditorium, the library, the laboratories, the gymnasium and the outdoor arena.

The project proposes the organization of campus spaces around two C-shaped green courtyards open to the city and its surroundings. The school’s environments look out with transparency and permeability onto these two green rooms/agora in which the continuity of perception between the outdoor and indoor environment encourages the entry of the landscape into the school environment.
