General managing and building site supervision Holy See pavilion – Vatican Chapels Biennale Architettura Venezia 2018

Venezia

After having participated in 2013 and 2015 in the International Art Exhibition of the Venice Biennale, in 2018 the Holy See participated for the first time at the Venice Biennale of Architecture with a pavilion spread in the woods of the island of San Giorgio Maggiore.

The project, promoted by Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi and curated by Prof. Francesco Dal Co and Dr. Micol Forti, was inspired by the Chapel of the Forest by Gunnar Asplund built in 1920 in the cemetery of Stockholm.
For this event, MAP studio, in addition to designing the introduction pavilion for the exhibition of Gunnar Asplund’s drawings for the chapel in the woods, also managed the overall coordination with the international architects invited to participate and with the graphics studio Tassinari Vetta.

MAP Studio also conducted a building site general supervision of the Vatican Chapels pavilion.
